Detroit Mercy will celebrate Day of Giving 2022 on Tuesday, Feb. 15, and students can participate in virtual and in-person activities to earn prizes.

“Gifts made by alumni and friends impact all areas of the university from scholarships to programs and building renovations,” said Judy Wernette, director of Annual Giving Program and Advancement Systems at Detroit Mercy. “Having a Day of Giving where we educate our current students about the impact that philanthropy has at Detroit Mercy will hopefully make them aware of the importance of them giving back when they are able in the future.”

Students can test their Detroit Mercy knowledge over trivia and hot cocoa, write thank-you notes to donors and hear alumni talk about their experiences and giving back to the University. Donor recognition signs will be placed throughout the McNichols, Riverfront, Corktown and Novi Campuses to show how giving has impacted the University.

Prizes are available for participation in Day of Giving’s in-person and virtual programming. The more students participate, the more prizes they can win. Students will receive one raffle ticket for each activity they participate in for a chance to win gift cards.

As a special bonus, all students who attend the alumni donor discussion panel in-person will be entered into a special raffle.

Day of Giving is hosted by Detroit Mercy’s Student Alumni Leadership Council’s philanthropy committee.
