Planning with MarCom for Success

The Marketing & Communications (MarCom) department represents Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà to its stakeholder groups with enthusiasm, accuracy, consistency and integrity.

We utilize effective and efficient marketing and communications strategies to

  • help increase undergraduate and graduate enrollment,
  • increase giving to the University through communications support to University Advancement, and
  • position the institution as an exemplary educational partner for business and industry in local, state and national markets.

Effective marketing and communications efforts require planning and lead time. Please take time to become familiar with specific timelines associated with MarCom’s strategic services. Also, follow the links in each area for important guidelines.

Note that while MarCom works diligently to fill requests quickly, turnaround times are dependent on the department’s current capacity and workload. Use the following timeline estimates below in your project planning.

Required lead time : takes one to 14 business days, depending on complexity of the request, available information, source review, revisions and imagery availability.

Throughout the year, MarCom receives requests from Colleges, programs and offices requesting assistance in developing marketing and communications plans and campaigns for various goals and objectives. MarCom is thrilled to partner with Detroit Mercy entities and help spread the word about this outstanding university.

You may be asked to fill out campaign request, program marketing request or collateral communication request forms.

Required lead time:  three to six weeks, depending on available information. In some cases, this can take up to two months for new campaigns.
