Health Services Administration Management Certificate (Post-baccalaureate Business Students)
Description
The Health Services Administration Management graduate certificate prepares current and potential health care professionals in the business aspects of health care. Students who have completed a bachelor’s, or master’s degree in business, are eligible to complete this five-course certificate in order to improve their ability to understand and manage within the U.S. health care system. Course content is specific to the field of health care delivery. Students will learn the use of evidence-based health care research in decision making, health policy, and approaches to quality improvement. Business training in management, accounting and financial management will be enhanced with two electives such as Health Care Law, Information Systems for Health Services Administrators and/or Population Health.

Admission Criteria
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited university or college
- A minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75. Conditional admission may be granted to students whose GPA is less than a 2.75
- Official transcripts of all colleges and universities attended
- One letter of professional recommendation from someone in a supervisory capacity
- A well-formulated career plan articulated in a brief essay
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae

Admission from Health Services Administration Management Certificate Program to the Master in Health Services Administration Program
Students who complete the Health Services Administration Management Certificate program are eligible for admission to the MHSA program if they meet all admission criteria for the master's program. For entry into the master's program, candidates must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and a combined cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better, submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, a resume, three letters of recommendation (one from a supervisor) and a personal essay. Applicants who meet the requirements will be interviewed by the Director of the Health Services Administration Department for final determination of eligibility. All degree requirements must be completed within seven years.
